THE ROCHESTERS

The Rochesters originated way back in 1955, when Harold Rochester, who was singing with a group at that time met his wife-to-be Joyce White, who was  also involved with a singing group at that time. Miss White soon joined Harold's group and were later married in July of 1956. As their children came along they were taught to play musical instruments, playing bluegrass/country gospel  music and singing-all part- time. In 1988, after a house fire that destroyed everything, The Rochesters  went full-time in the ministry. The Lord opened several doors and they soon  found themselves booked a year in advance. The group today consists of Harold Rochester, who sings bass. His wife Joyce Rochester, who sings lead. Scott Matthews, who preaches and also plays rhythm guitar. His wife Becky Rochester Matthews who sings lead, plays the bass guitar and writes some of the groups material. Scott and Becky also have twin daughters that were born in October of 1997 that travel with them, Macalah Ruth and Madison Elaine Matthews. Ben Rochester who sings baritone, some lead, plays
several lead instruments and has also written material for the group. Ben's wife Linda and their twin girls, Lindzi Kaye and Lizzi Faye (born June of 2001) also travel with the group.

The Rochesters have recorded 13 projects over the last 20 years and have a new project coming out soon. They have also released several songs to radio stations over the last several years. These songs include: God Hath Provided Himself a Lamb, One Of These Days, His Hand, Living Water, It Was Love, In His Time, God Knows, He Got Up For Me, The Old Rock Altar (Mr. Rochester's Testimony), Heaven Can You Imagine, A Love Down Deep in My Heart, I Can Stand the Stones, and their latest single on the Mountain Home label, A Brighter Day. The Group presently  records with Horizon Records of Arden, NC and their last four recordings have been produced by Tim Surrett of The Isaacs.  The Lord has allowed The Rochesters to sing in 29 states and Canada,  traveling on average 60,000 to 80,000 miles per year.
