The answer is very simple: to sing Southern Gospel Music!!

The Beene Family

The ironic twist to this story is that there is very little Southern Gospel in California. However, a few groups did make their way west just enough to influence three young brothers to sing gospel music. Shandon, Brandon, and Landon Beene were inspired to sing by groups such as the Weatherfords, the Cathedrals, the Hoppers, and the Greenes.
Growing up in a pastor's home, the boys each felt a calling on their lives at a very young age to minister the gospel to a lost and hurting world. After listening to their father's collection of music and seeing the groups who traveled to the West Coast, they each  began to realize that they also wanted their ministry to be a musical one. Growing up, they recognized that not only had God called them and given them the desire to sing gospel music, but he had also given them the talents and capabilities to fulfill that calling. While each member of the Beene Family possesses unique and individual abilities, they collectively join to share the gospel.

Shandon Beene, the oldest of the three brothers, sings every song with such power and conviction that audiences quickly realize that he knows what he is singing about. Shandon is also actively involved in the recording arrangements and managerial responsibilities of The Beene Family. Shandon and his wife Dawn have a beautiful daughter, Taylor Brooke.

Brandon Beene, the middle son, is the "talker" of the group. Brandon's sense of humor on stage has gained him friends all across the country. He somehow manages to talk his way right into the audiences' hearts before the night is over. In addition to the emcee work, Brandon also sings the lead and handles the booking and the office responsibilities for the Beene Family.

Landon Beene, the "baby boy" of the brothers, joins his family on stage as pianist, and occasionally the guys team up for a "male trio" number. Landon's mentor, Roger Bennett, shows up in his style of playing. He has quickly become one of the most recognizable pianists
in Southern Gospel music. Landon also takes care of product inventory and sales for the Beene Family. Landon was recently married to the former Aundrea "Drea" Maciel, also of California.

21-year-old alto Chrysta Branson has returned to the Beene Family! A cousin of the Beene brothers, Chrysta was the original alto singer for the group. After just a brief leave of absence, Chrysta is back to stay! Chrysta's dynamic vocals and smooth harmonies are a tremendous asset to the sound of the Beene brothers.

Brand new doors continue to open for the Beene Family everyday. They were recently featured on the first single from the project "A Tribute to the Songs of Kyla Rowland." The song, I'll Take the Old Highway, is currently playing on radio stations all across the country. This is the first Singing News Top 80 song by this wonderful family. The Beene Family have become
regulars on annual programs throughout the nation. Their unique blend of powerful ballads, toe-tappers, and a few old standards offer a variety to every performance.

The Beene Family combine music, humor, and real-life testimonies of what Christ has done in each of their lives to present the message of salvation and encouragement to every audience. Their goal is that the people they sing to will see that they daily face the same struggles and deal with the same circumstances that their audiences do. They also want the people to see how they handle the challenges that they face. The Beene Family is committed to simply presenting Jesus to every person they come in contact with. He has certainly blessed their sincerity and placed His hand upon their ministry.
